Grigoryan Expresses Concern Over Statements and Evaluations Made by CSTO Secretary General

The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, had a phone conversation with the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas. This was reported by the Office of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia.

At the beginning of the conversation, the CSTO Secretary General congratulated Armen Grigoryan on the successful conduct of early parliamentary elections on July 20.

Subsequently, Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan expressed his concern regarding certain wording and evaluations made in the CSTO Secretary General's statement on July 3.

The Secretary of the Security Council emphasized that the ongoing situation cannot be classified as an incident, given that Azerbaijani military personnel have not vacated the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia for a considerable time. Noting that the actions of the Azerbaijani side constitute a clear attempt to seize part of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan reiterated that it is essential to exercise restraint regarding the formulations at the level of the CSTO Secretariat so as not to undermine constructive efforts aimed at resolving the situation.

At the end of the conversation, Armen Grigoryan highlighted that it would be appropriate to organize a visit by the CSTO Secretariat to familiarize themselves with the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
