VIDEO: Death Toll from Plane Crash in the Philippines Rises to 31

The death toll from the crash of a Philippine military aircraft in the southwestern part of the country has risen to 31, reports the Rappler portal, citing the military.

According to the Philippine Armed Forces, the victims include 29 military personnel and two civilians who were on board the aircraft. Additionally, 50 people aboard were injured, along with four civilians. The fate of another 17 soldiers remains unknown. Reports indicate that the soldiers flying in the aircraft were new recruits.

Philippine authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the causes of the incident.

The Philippine Air Force's C-130 aircraft crashed while attempting to land on Jolo Island in Sulu Province.
