9.5 million drams to be recovered from HPU in favor of employee unlawfully dismissed by rector: Ruben Hayrapetyan

At least 9.5 million drams will be recovered from the Armenian State Economic University (HPU) in favor of an employee who was unlawfully dismissed by the rector. This was reported by Ruben Hayrapetyan, the former rector of HPU, on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted: “At least 9.5 million drams will be recovered from HPU in favor of the employee who was openly unlawfully dismissed by the rector under the guise of formal changes in positions. The waste of tuition fees from 15 students has resulted due to negligence... The appellate court (under the chairmanship of judge K. Hambardzumyan) confirmed the decision of the first instance court, and in the meantime, the amount of damage caused to the university increased from 4.5 to 9.5 million drams. They were not admonished by the first instance... Although the compensation will be paid from the university budget, which is formed from student tuition fees, there is good news for students; the damages caused to the university must be compensated from personal funds by the party responsible for the damages, because, according to the law on state non-commercial organizations, the person appointed to the executive body of a state organization (the rector) is fully liable for the damages caused to the state organization due to his fault.”

P.S. The same “brilliant” trick has been used to dismiss the head of the general department, G. Muradyan, whose case is also in court and is expected to have the same obvious outcome.
