Man Discovers $1.3 Million in His Bank Account Due to Banking Error and Makes Purchases
Life can be both generous and cruel at the same time, as reported by Luxury Launches, showcasing the story of a Russian man who became a millionaire overnight due to a banking error.
35-year-old Roman Yurkov discovered 95.2 million rubles (approximately $1.3 million) in his bank account as a result of a technical digital error. The man stated that he contacted the bank to verify whether everything was in order with his account and received a positive response.
After that, the resident of Tula purchased luxury homes, cars, and an iPhone. The source details that from May 31 to June 1, 2020, Yurkov made 220 individual transfers from his account, making various purchases, including four apartments and two cars.
Yurkov claimed he remained in constant contact with the bank, whose employees assured him that everything was fine with his account.
Ultimately, when there was 39 million rubles (about $540,000) left in his account, it was frozen, and the funds were seized, resulting in Yurkov's arrest. The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to six years in prison.
