Fire in the "Jghngyol" Area of Khosrov State Reserve Extinguished
On July 2, at 11:48 AM, the fire that broke out in the "Jghngyol" section of the Khosrov State Reserve has been extinguished.
Approximately 4000 square meters of grass cover, along with about 70 decorative trees and shrubs, were burned.
It is worth recalling that on June 30, at 6:52 PM, the Ararat regional crisis management center received a call reporting a fire in the "Jghngyol" area of the Khosrov State Reserve. Five firefighting units, two operational groups, and 28 rescuers (with four support vehicles) from the Rescue Forces Department's special operational unit were dispatched to the scene.
A total of 81 rescuers and 30 employees from the "Khosrov Forest" State Reserve participated in the firefighting efforts. It was determined that grass cover, peat layers, and juniper trees had burned in various hotspots across approximately 4000 square meters.
The fire was contained on July 1 at 3:50 PM. Present at the scene were the acting Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan, the head of the Emergency Situations Service Colonel Armen Gasparyan, and Deputy Director of the Service Colonel Hovhannes Yemishyan.
As of 8:30 PM, due to darkness, the firefighting operations were halted; there were no active smoldering hotspots. Duty has been established at the scene.
