Erdogan Files New Lawsuit Against Turkish Opposition Leader
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has filed a new lawsuit against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the leader of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP). According to reports in the Turkish press, Erdogan is demanding 500,000 Turkish lira (approximately $57,586) as compensation for moral damages.
The reason behind the lawsuit is that Kılıçdaroğlu made insulting remarks about Erdogan during a recent speech in the National Assembly. The lawsuit emphasizes that the CHP leader violated Erdogan's personal rights.
It is worth noting that over the past decade, a record number of lawsuits have been filed in the name of Recep Tayyip Erdogan against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, with the overwhelming majority concluding in favor of Erdogan. As a result, Kılıçdaroğlu has been ordered by various Turkish courts to pay millions of lira in compensation to Erdogan for nearly all negative or critical remarks made about him in his speeches.
