Los Angeles City Council President Expresses Willingness to Continue Supporting Armenian Agenda
On June 29 in Los Angeles, the Armenian Consul General and extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador Armen Bayburdyan held a virtual meeting with Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez.
The Consulate of Armenia in Los Angeles reports that Ambassador Bayburdyan expressed gratitude to Nury Martinez for her positive stance on Armenian resolutions.
The Consul General also acknowledged her support for the resolutions passed by the Los Angeles City Council regarding Armenia and Artsakh during the 44-day war in 2020, as well as the press conference organized by council member Paul Krekorian in front of the Los Angeles City Hall, urging an end to aggression against Artsakh.
Nury Martinez, for her part, expressed her willingness to continue supporting the Armenian agenda. The interlocutors discussed plans for implementing joint projects.
Nury Martinez has been serving as the President of the Los Angeles City Council since December 2019, having previously held the position of acting president. She has been a council member since 2013 and represents the 6th district, which includes the heavily Armenian-populated North Hollywood, Van Nuys, San Fernando Valley, as well as Panorama City, Lake Balboa, and North Hills.
