Video: A grenade exploded, resulting in a relative's death on the spot and the other in the hospital

On June 26, at 10:15 PM, the Vagharshapat police department received a report that a grenade had exploded at house number 33 on Khachatryan Street in Ejmiadzin. This was reported by the police.

Upon receiving the report, the operational group of the department went to the scene. Officials from the prosecutor's office, investigative committee, firefighters, and forensic experts also arrived.

In the living room, the body of a man was found. It was determined that he was a 48-year-old resident of Mayisyan Street in Ejmiadzin. A 33-year-old resident of the same house was also transported to the “Vagharshapat” medical center with injuries. His injuries were also incompatible with life; he died shortly after midnight.

Through operational and investigative measures, the following was revealed: the 33-year-old man, under the influence of alcohol, had argued with his 60-year-old father and assaulted him. He then took a grenade from the bedroom, pulled the pin, and threatened his father, saying he would blow him up. The father managed to escape.

Armed with the grenade, the man called a relative to the house. While conversing in the living room, the grenade exploded, resulting in the relative's immediate death and the man later dying in the hospital.

During the inspection of the scene, the metal ring of the grenade and bullet casings were discovered. A criminal case has been initiated, and examinations have been ordered. The circumstances are being clarified.
