Two Fatalities in Gegharkunik Accident: Victims from Armenia, Injured Include Nationals from Russia and Ukraine
According to the criminal case initiated following the tragic accident on June 28, the identities of the deceased, drivers, and the injured have been established, as reported by shamshyan.com.
It was revealed that the "Opel" was driven by 60-year-old Levon Hovsepyan, a resident of the Gegharkunik region, and the "Renault" was driven by 24-year-old Aram Alayan, a citizen of Russia. As a result of the accident, Levon Hovsepyan and his passenger, 60-year-old Haykanush Simonyan, died at the scene. Another passenger, 59-year-old Shoghik Nersisyan, was transported to the "Gavar" medical center with injuries, while the driver of the "Renault," Aram Alayan, and his passengers - Russian citizens 23-year-old Gvona Kristinana, 25-year-old Men-Cher Kaneyaman, and 24-year-old Maxim Yashnuk from Ukraine - were also taken to the "Gavar" medical center. After receiving initial treatment, they were transferred to various hospitals in Yerevan.
Previously, a source from the scene reported that a major and tragic traffic accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region on June 28. Around 6:30 PM, the "Opel" and "Renault" vehicles collided head-on on the 24th kilometer of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway, within the administrative area of the village of Hayravank. As a result of the accident, two people died on the spot, and four others were transported to the "Gavar" medical center with varying degrees of bodily injuries.
