Truck Loaded with 23 Tons of Fuel Collides with Mound and Overturns

On June 29, an emergency incident occurred in the Tavush region. Around 11:00, a truck with an Iveco trailer collided with a mound while navigating the first turn from the Dilijan tunnel towards Semyonovka under unknown circumstances, ending up overturned at the beginning of the turn. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to preliminary information, fortunately, there were no injuries resulting from the accident. The trailer, which was loaded with 23 tons of fuel intended for asphalt, overturned and spilled its contents.

Emergency services, led by shift commander Arshak Melikjanyan from the Dilijan Fire and Rescue Brigade No. 63 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, arrived promptly at the scene. The fuel completely spilled out along approximately 300 meters of the roadway, and emergency crews and road workers are now covering the fuel with soil until it cools down, after which they will scrape it off the road for removal.

The police are currently determining the identity of the driver, who is a foreign national.
