Traffic Accident on Sevan-Martuni-Getap Highway: There Are Fatalities and Injuries

On June 28, 2021, around 18:20, vehicles of the brands "RENAULT" and "OPEL" collided on the 24.1 km section of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway. As a result of the crash, the driver and a passenger of the OPEL perished on the spot due to injuries incompatible with life. Another female passenger from the same vehicle, along with the driver of the RENAULT car and three passengers, were transported to the Gavar Medical Center.

This information was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. A criminal case has been initiated in the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee under part 3 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code.

During the preliminary investigation, inspections of the scene and the vehicles involved have been carried out, and forensic examinations have been appointed. The investigation is ongoing, and measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the accident and ensure an objective and comprehensive examination.
