It Was Unnecessary to Offend and Marginalize the Pro-Nikol Section of Society, as These People Became More Consolidated Around Nikol: Naira Zohrabyan
I have heard about total election fraud, but I have not seen any concrete evidence. I am eagerly awaiting the appeal of the "Honorary Mission" and "Armenia" alliance to the Constitutional Court to understand the scale of violations and election fraud we are dealing with. However, we must also recognize that it may not have been necessary to offend and marginalize the "pro-Nikol" segment of society, as these people consolidated more around Nikol out of fear. This was said today by MP Naira Zohrabyan at a press conference.
"From now on, I will not blame the people, because when we have a citizen who says, 'Let the Turk come and kill me, as long as Nikol remains,' I believe that we bear some responsibility. We should not tell this society that they are ignorant, filthy, or incompetent; instead, we need to educate them. We cannot take our people and surrender them to the enemy. We have a society whose overwhelming majority does not perceive the security issue, and they are not to blame, as they have been educated this way. Our educational system has been destroyed for 30 years, and this people has been fed Brazilian and then Armenian series, which have removed the citizen and left only the average consumer behind," said Zohrabyan.
Zohrabyan apologized to the segment of society she had offended. She remarked that she still does not understand the position of these people but is willing to work patiently with everyone. "Nikol should be face to face with his voters because the more the opposition speaks, the more they play into the hands of the former regime's narrative, and the society weakens," she emphasized.
She stressed that scaring and offending the people does not help fight against their incorrect political views and expressed her readiness to travel from region to region, village to village, to even meet with those who have offended her. "I want to understand the motivation of these people, why they say, 'Let's give up Syunik, as long as Nikol remains.' I have no great expectations from the Constitutional Court, but we must fight for our statehood, and I will be on the frontline of that fight."
Zohrabyan mentioned that the same ideas should be held by the forces and MPs that have already entered parliament. In her opinion, the fact that everyone has been working against Robert Kocharyan’s propaganda for so many years yet he was able to strengthen his position is, according to her, somewhat of a victory.
