Seven MPs Present Personal Guarantee to Change Dr. Armen Charchyan's Custody Measures

Seven MPs have presented a personal guarantee, requesting a change in the custody measures for Dr. Armen Charchyan. This was mentioned by Naira Zohrabyan on her Facebook page.

“As seven MPs, we have submitted a personal guarantee requesting a change in the custody measures for Dr. Armen Charchyan. Under Article 145 of the RA Criminal Procedure Code, dear Mr. Margaryan, the criminal case No. 62210621 is under your jurisdiction.

Understanding the importance of a proper investigation within the framework of the initiated criminal case, emphasizing the need to disclose all circumstances of the case and to carry out the proceedings strictly within the rule of law, taking into account the significant contributions of Armen Gerasimy Charchyan to the healthcare sector of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh, as well as the unprecedented successes achieved in the medical field, including in terms of providing medical assistance and care to people, his title of Doctor of Medical Sciences and professor, impeccable biography, the statement from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin regarding Armen Charchyan, and considering the current health problems faced by Armen Charchyan, I guarantee that in the event of the cessation of his custody which serves as a preventive measure, he will demonstrate proper behavior, will not obstruct the investigation, will not evade appearing before the authority conducting the proceedings, and will not commit any acts prohibited by criminal law.

I guarantee fulfillment of procedural obligations throughout the investigation, therefore I request that the applied detention be replaced with a measure not related to deprivation of liberty. I announce that based on this guarantee, I am preparing to fulfill the procedural obligations provided for by the RA Criminal Procedure Code in order to replace detention with a measure not related to deprivation of liberty.”
