Property Expropriation Process Launched for Construction of Road Connecting Mamigonian and Khachaturyan Streets
The construction of the road segment connecting Mamigonian and A. Khachaturyan streets in the Arabkir administrative district is one of the important and long-awaited urban development projects. To implement this project, the process of expropriating properties in the areas adjacent to Mamigonian and Aram Khachaturyan streets has begun, in accordance with the law of the Republic of Armenia on "Expropriation of Property for Ensuring the Public Interest" (Government Decision No. 2143 dated 24.12.2020).
The expropriation process for some of the properties located within the impact zone has already been carried out under favorable conditions for the owners. Negotiations are also ongoing with other property owners.
Once the expropriation process is completed, the construction of the Mamigonian-Aram Khachaturyan road segment will commence, which will significantly alleviate the heavy traffic on Komitas Avenue. Additionally, the parallel transport corridor will improve evacuation routes for the neighborhood.
It is noteworthy that the planned road segment will start from Mamigonian Street, leading to the yard of the newly constructed building at Mamigonian 49, intersecting with the former railway path, and connecting to the existing beginning of Aram Khachaturyan Street.
