Major Accident and Fire in Kotayk Province, Vehicle Rolls Over 70 Meters and Ends Up in a Gorge; Injured are Police Officers

Today, a major accident and fire occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 10:40 AM, a Mercedes vehicle exited the roadway in the administrative area of Abovyan city, at the 22nd km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, under still unclear circumstances. The vehicle collided with concrete barriers and, rolling over approximately 70 meters, ended up in a gorge. This was reported by shamshyan.com.

As a result of the collision, the vehicle caught fire, and two individuals were assisted out of the vehicle by citizens. A medical team from the 'Abovyan' medical center, which arrived promptly, provided first aid on the scene before transferring the injured to Yerevan's number 1 university hospital.

The police are working on identifying the driver and the injured. According to G. Shamshyan's information, those hospitalized are officers working in the criminal investigations division of the Nor Nork Police Department.
