‘Hayastan’ Alliance to Appeal to the Constitutional Court to Nullify Voting Results within 5 Days: Aram Vardevanyan

During the campaign for the early parliamentary elections, an immense amount of hate speech has spread. This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, the official representative of the ‘Hayastan’ Alliance's central headquarters, during a briefing with journalists, referring to the alliance's request to the Central Electoral Commission to nullify the results of the early parliamentary election voting.

“Hate speech is not just a word, especially when it comes from a force acting from a position of power, surrounded at all times by perhaps thousands of police officers at meetings. Imagine words being spoken that, for example, they will smash the heads of community leaders and lay them on the pavement, conducting vendettas,” said Vardevanyan.

According to him, there have been systematic violations. “If we consider the issues related to passports, soldiers, and roaming mechanisms, we are dealing with over 200,000 ballots. This is a number that would completely change the outcome of the elections. All these circumstances will be fully presented to the Constitutional Court,” he noted, adding that they plan to submit the application to the Constitutional Court within the shortest possible time, in accordance with the law, within 5 days after today's summary of results.

“The Constitutional Court can make three decisions: to nullify the voting results, to nullify the results and call for a second round of elections, or to nullify the results and establish a new procedure for the distribution of mandates,” he emphasized.
