Video: Illegal Structures Demolished, 34 in Ajapnyak Alone

On June 25, by the order of Mayor Hayk Marutyan, another illegal structure was demolished in Ajapnyak. The police forces of the Republic of Armenia greatly supported the municipality during the demolition process, ensuring public order during the dismantling operations.

It is worth reminding that in the past week of intensive demolitions, 34 illegal structures have been dismantled in Ajapnyak alone over the last six months.

As an interim observation, the owners of the illegal structures have often complained recently, saying, 'We applied to the municipality to obtain construction permits, but the municipality did not grant them, which is why we were forced to build illegally.' Excuse me, but that's roughly the same as asking someone for their car and, not getting permission, stealing the car, then justifying it by saying, 'I wanted it, but they didn’t give it to me, so I was forced to steal.' The city authorities manage the community’s property and grant building permits, and in any case, one must obtain permission from the municipal authorities.
