VIDEO: High-Rise Building Collapses in Florida, Fate of 99 People Unknown

On Thursday morning, local time, a high-rise residential building collapsed in Surfside, Florida. Footage of the collapse was captured by cameras installed nearby.

Authorities report that 102 residents were not at home at the time and are now safe, while the fate of 99 others remains unknown. One death has been confirmed so far. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

Miami-Dade officials are conducting an investigation into the cause of the building's collapse. The official reason for the devastation has not yet been determined.
