US Congressman Condemns Fake Trials Against Armenian Prisoners of War in Azerbaijan

The ongoing violations of human rights by Azerbaijan during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are unacceptable. This was stated by US Congressman Adam Schiff on his Facebook page, commenting on the initiation of fake trials against Armenian prisoners of war in Azerbaijan.

“Convicting prisoners of war is a gross violation of international conventions and further evidence that Azerbaijan clearly disregards human rights and international law,” Schiff noted. He emphasized that while efforts are underway to secure the release of the prisoners, the US must not allow Azerbaijan's actions to go unchecked and must once again implement the prohibition on military assistance to Baku’s regime.

“We must not allow Azerbaijan to violate human rights and infringe on international norms with impunity,” the US congressman concluded.
