Absence of Peace Agreement Between Armenia and Azerbaijan Means Absence of Peace in the South Caucasus: Ilham Aliyev

Aliyev, head of the Baku administration, stated that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has already been resolved and there is no need for negotiations on this matter.

Today, Aliyev received Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, and a European Union delegation visiting Azerbaijan under the mandate of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

“We are currently in a post-conflict development state. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is resolved. There is nothing to discuss in this regard. The trilateral declaration signed on November 10 is not just a ceasefire agreement, as some international political figures try to present it. Anyone who is familiar with that document will see that it addresses not only the ceasefire but also many other issues. We must think about the post-conflict situation. The absence of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia means the absence of peace in the South Caucasus,” Aliyev stated.
