Putin and Erdogan Discuss Situation Surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh

On June 24, a phone conversation took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to the Kremlin's press service, the parties discussed the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, among other issues.

"The exchange of views on the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh continued. A positive assessment was given to the work of the Russian-Turkish joint center for monitoring the ceasefire. The Turkish president expressed support for Russian efforts aimed at the comprehensive implementation of the agreements set out in the statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021. Willingness to continue coordination was confirmed, including in light of the interests of restoring regional transport infrastructure and economic development," the Kremlin's message stated.

Additionally, Erdogan and Putin discussed matters related to the supply of the Sputnik V vaccine, restoring air communication with Turkey, and issues related to the Putin-Biden meeting.
