Doctor Armen Charityan Hospitalized Due to Heart Problems

Armen Charityan, the head of the Izmirlian Medical Center and a distinguished orthopedic surgeon, has been hospitalized due to heart problems. This news was confirmed by his lawyer, Erik Alexanyan, to NEWS.am.

It is noteworthy that just earlier, Judge Armine Meliksetyan made a decision to imprison Armen Charityan for one month.

Recall that Charityan has been charged under Article 154.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which pertains to bribing voters, receiving bribes, violating the ban on charity during elections, or obstructing the free will of voters.

Armen Charityan has denied the charges against him. According to the investigator from the Special Investigative Service, if Charityan remains free, he may evade the authorities and hinder the investigation of the case.

It is important to add that the court had previously deemed the arrest of Charityan as unlawful. After being released, he held a press conference where he addressed the criminal case initiated against him, claiming it to be a "fabricated case."
