In Meghri, the Community Leader and His Friend 'Gojin' Illegally Sold a Plot of Land
The head of the State Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspectorate issued directives No. K269-A dated May 11, 2021, and No. K289-A dated May 17, 2021, which mandated the Geodesy and Land Use Monitoring Department to conduct an inspection of compliance with RA land legislation requirements in the Meghri community of Syunik Province from May 13 to May 26, 2021. The inspection revealed several violations of land legislation.
Specifically, an examination of documents and site inspections in the community found the following: by a decision dated July 1, 2020, the head of the community sold a plot of agricultural land, measuring 0.4388 hectares, which belongs to the Meghri community, to Roland Gevorgyan, who was declared the winner of the auction. The land was sold without considering the fact that, at the time of sale, it was encumbered by an illegal public structure. Moreover, a voluntarily enclosed adjacent pond is being used without any legal grounds.
It is noteworthy that Roland Gevorgyan, the individual involved in the fraudulent sale of the land, is a friend of the community leader, known by the nickname 'Gojin', who had previously made sexual insults during the Prime Minister's visit to Meghri.
