Human Rights Defender Sends Irrefutable Video of Aliyev and Turkish First Lady's Conversation to EU Leaders
The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan has announced on his Facebook page that he has sent a video of the conversation between the President of Azerbaijan and the First Lady of Turkey to EU officials.
In the post, he stated:
“Today, I have sent an irrefutable video evidence of the conversation between the President of Azerbaijan and the First Lady of Turkey to the highest leaders of the European Union through additional letters:
- To the President of the European Council;
- To the President of the European Commission;
- To the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The video serves as evidence that all Armenian captives are being held in Azerbaijan as hostages for political bargaining and trading purposes. Therefore, all trials against the captives are false, and their imprisonments are tantamount to prohibited punishment.
The letters illustrate how Azerbaijani authorities are misleading the international community, including the EU. Today’s letters are based on alarms from the families of captives and results from our investigations, revealing the suffering inflicted on them by Azerbaijani authorities.
It has been specifically noted how the anti-Armenian policies of Azerbaijani authorities and the political manipulation regarding the return of captives have impacted the human experiences of the Armenian society, especially for those families.
With references to the facts, the letters raised the issue of the immediate return of Armenian captives as an unconditional and mandatory international requirement.”
