Microchip in Humans' Brains: Putin Approves the Program
The Russian government is allocating 54 billion rubles for the development of a program aimed at placing microchips in human brains. The federal program, titled "Brain, Health, Intelligence, Innovation," is being developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the implementation of the program, which may be linked to his daughter, Katerina Tikhonova, who has previously been reported to coordinate artificial intelligence initiatives.
The newspaper Kommersant states that the working group for the program was formed following conceptual developments by the Russian Academy of Sciences and Moscow State University. Officials from the Ministry of Education and Science told Kommersant that the program is currently in its preliminary phase.
