Shoigu Congratulates Harutyunyan on Ruling Team's Victory

On June 21, the Acting Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General Sergey Shoigu.

The head of the Russian defense agency congratulated Vagharshak Harutyunyan on the ruling team's victory in the snap parliamentary elections held in Armenia.

“Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Sergey Shoigu discussed the situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border areas of Gegharkunik and Syunik regions and ways to resolve it,” the statement said.

According to the source, the defense ministers of Armenia and Russia expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of Armenian-Russian cooperation in the defense sector and emphasized the importance of timely and comprehensive implementation of the programs outlined in this direction.

The conversation also addressed regional issues.
