Election Results Are Highly Controversial and Elicit No Confidence: 'Armenia' Alliance
The results of the parliamentary elections are highly controversial and do not instill confidence, stated the 'Armenia' alliance in a published statement.
"These results are in stark contradiction to various manifestations of public life that we have witnessed over the past 8 months, all results of public opinion surveys, including international ones, and finally, common sense itself. The significant public gatherings of the opposition forces during the campaign and the clearly low turnouts at government events pointed to entirely different public sentiments existing in the country. A serious basis for the lack of trust lies in the numerous reports coming from various polling stations on the day of the election, which testify to systematic and pre-planned fraud regarding the election results.
Taking the above into account, the 'Armenia' alliance aims to conduct a thorough and substantiated investigation into the recorded and suspected violations, which we are embarking on immediately. Until all contentious issues receive comprehensive explanations and doubts are dispelled, the 'Armenia' alliance will not accept the election results," the statement read.
