Car Falls into Gorge Near Lake Sevan in Gegharkunik Province: One Child Dies, Seven Hospitalized
On June 21, a tragic car accident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. Around 18:10, the driver of a VAZ 2121 vehicle with the license plate 93 NV 093 lost control under unknown circumstances while driving on the Chambarak-Shorja highway. The car rolled several times and ended up in a gorge near the shore of Lake Sevan.
According to shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, eight individuals with varying degrees of physical injuries were transported to the 'Chambarak' medical center. The 1-77 operational management center of the Traffic Police reported the incident to the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense, as preliminary information suggests that the driver is a serviceman of the RA Ministry of Defense. The police are investigating the identities of the driver, the deceased, and the injured.
Civilians were the first to provide assistance to the injured, with medical staff from the Chambarak medical center promptly administering first aid on-site before transporting the victims to the hospital. Some injured individuals were also taken to the hospital by civilians.
