Power Outages at Polling Stations
Polling stations across Armenia closed their doors at 20:00 as the vote counting process began. However, before the counting started, an incident was reported at the Odzun polling station.
At the Odzun 25/58 polling station, power was cut off just 10 minutes before the election closed. Residents reported that the central part of Ashtarak experienced a power outage from 16:00 to 17:50.
In addition, the Ageshat community's polling station number 14/26 in the Armavir region also lost power at 17:25 for about 10 minutes. This information was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Central Electoral Commission, Hermine Harutyunyan.
During the outage, voters were forced to step out of the voting booth to retrieve their ballots as it was dark inside. Some even required assistance, entering the booth with another person. It is noteworthy that a relatively high number of people in Aygeshat needed help; as of 17:45, 16 voters required assistance.
