Armen Chartchyan Released from Custody; Judge Shahverdyan Accepts Appeal Against Arrest
The director of the Izmirlian Medical Center and candidate for parliament from the Armenia Alliance, Armen Chartchyan, has had his appeal against the legality of his arrest granted. This was reported by one of Chartchyan's defenders, Aram Vardevanyan.
It is noteworthy that the court hearing regarding the appeal took place yesterday, June 19, after which the court retreated to make a decision.
Recall that Chartchyan was arrested on June 18 in connection with a criminal case investigated by the Special Investigation Service, based on a recording published by the Fact-Checking Platform. According to the platform, in the recording, Chartchyan urges, requests, and demands that employees participate in the elections, emphasizing that he, as a candidate from the Armenia Alliance, will have technical means to confirm who participated in the elections.
Chartchyan also stated that there would be a harsher attitude towards those who do not participate in the elections.
Chartchyan's defenders, Aram Vardevanyan and Erik Aleksanyan, argue that he is being politically persecuted.
