Alen Simonyan Stands at Entrance for 15 Minutes After Voting, Greeting and Interacting with Voters: Alert
Recently, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan entered the polling station located on Saryan Street in Yerevan, cast his vote, and then stood at the entrance for 15 minutes, greeting people and refusing to leave the area. This behavior contravenes regulations that prohibit candidates from being within 50 meters of the polling site.
Journalist Syuzanna Badoyan reported about the incident on her Facebook page. She also added: “The head of the precinct commission is not intervening in the scene of campaign activity and is not removing the high-ranking official from the area, thereby assisting the campaign in favor of the Civil Contract Party. For the last 15-20 minutes, Alen has been directing voters while warmly greeting and engaging with them one-on-one.”
