Major Car Accident in Gegharkunik Region: Tire Blowout Causes Vehicle to Crash and Flip Over; Injuries Reported

On June 19, a major car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 12:30 PM, 50-year-old Gagik Badalyan, a resident of Geghamavan village, lost control of his VAZ 2103 vehicle due to a tire blowout while driving on the Gagarin highway, approximately 0.2 km from the road. The car veered off the roadway, collided with rocks and an earth mound, and flipped over, landing on its roof.

According to Shamshyan.com from the scene, both the driver G. Badalyan and his passenger, 54-year-old Haverj Manukyan, also from the same village, sustained bodily injuries and were transported to the 'Sevan' medical center. The first to assist the injured were citizens and doctors from Sevan Hospital, who arrived promptly and provided first aid at the scene before the victims were taken to the hospital.

The driver underwent a sobriety test at the hospital and was found to be sober.
