Major Car Accident in Syunik Region: Vehicle Crashes into Barriers and Rolls 200 Meters into a Ravine While Traveling from Artsakh to Yerevan
On June 18, information was circulated through electronic media about a major car accident in the Syunik region involving a bus traveling from Artsakh to Yerevan. However, according to shamshyan.com, the accident did occur, but it did not involve a bus.
At around 12:00, 44-year-old Samvel Mangasaryan from Stepanakert was driving his Nissan X-Trail when, under unknown circumstances, he veered off the road along the Yerevan-Meghri highway at the 192.5 km mark and collided with concrete barriers, rolling approximately 200 meters into a ravine.
As a result of the accident, passengers from Stepanakert, including 41-year-old Inna Mangasaryan, 15-year-old Diana Mangasaryan, 10-year-old Pavlik Mangasaryan, and 36-year-old Oksanna Gabrielyan, were transported to the Sisian Medical Center, while the driver, S. Mangasaryan, was taken to the military hospital in Aghitu, Sisian. Among the injured, S. Mangasaryan is reported to be in extremely critical condition, while the others are in stable serious condition.
