Involving Soldiers in Political Processes is Condemnable: General Staff Comments on Social Media Video

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia condemns attempts to involve soldiers in political processes.

In an interview with Armenpress, Colonel Samvel Asatryan, head of the Information Department of the Organizational Directorate of the Armed Forces General Staff, addressed a video circulating on social media where soldiers from a military unit declare their support for the 'Armenia' alliance.

"A soldier is obliged to follow orders at all times, and in this case, we believe an order was simply executed—regardless of whether the opinion expressed in the video reflects their desire or not. Involving soldiers in political processes is condemnable, and those responsible will be punished in accordance with the law. Details will be clarified following an internal investigation," Colonel Samvel Asatryan noted.
