Investigator Who Arrested Director of Goris Culture Center Has Disappeared, His Phone Is Turned Off

The Deputy Mayor of Goris, Irina Yolyan, posted on her Facebook page just after midnight: "The director of the Goris Culture Center has been illegally arrested. There has been no information for about an hour, and it is impossible to contact Hayk Khachatrayan."

In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Khachatrayan's lawyer, Edgar Arahamyan, stated that the basis for his client's arrest is unknown, as he has been unable to contact the investigator since last night. The investigator who arrested the director of the Goris Culture Center has his phone turned off, which is why Arahamyan is unaware of the legal grounds for the arrest or has any information about his client.

"I assume, and this is purely my assumption, that this arrest may be related to a video that circulated on the internet today. A woman working in the Goris Culture House stated that she was a supporter of Nikol Pashinyan and that Khachatrayan allegedly prevented her from attending the rally of the acting Prime Minister. It is possible that the arrest is connected to this incident, but I cannot assert it," Arahamyan remarked.
