Defense Army Issues a Statement

The Defense Army of Artsakh has issued a statement which says: "In light of the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections in the Republic of Armenia on June 20, there have been instances of pre-election political campaigning within the Defense Army of Artsakh, which is absolutely unacceptable given the clear reality that armed forces must remain out of politics.

Service investigations have already been initiated regarding the recorded incidents, and those found guilty will bear legal responsibility. We strongly condemn all such tendencies and call on political forces to convincingly refrain from involving the Artsakh Defense Army in Armenia's internal political processes, especially attempts to conduct pre-election campaigning in favor of one candidate or another.

It is essential to highlight that these actions are unlawful, and all those who violate the fundamental principle of neutrality concerning political processes will be held accountable in the legal sphere."
