Stabbing Incident Involving Minors Revealed in Yerevan
The police in Shengavit have uncovered a stabbing incident involving two young men by a minor resident of Manandyan Street in Yerevan.
According to the Public Relations and Information Department of the RA Police, on June 14, around 8 PM, two separate reports were received at the Shengavit police station regarding the same incident. Two young men sought medical assistance for stab wounds.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Hovsepyan and Manandyan streets, where they were stabbed.
"The victims did not know the person who caused their bodily injuries. They had randomly gotten into an argument with him. A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident. The investigative body took necessary measures towards clarifying the situation, and thanks to consistent efforts, the suspect's identity was established the day after the incident," the statement mentioned.
According to the source, through explanatory work, the suspect presented himself at the Shengavit police station on June 15 and confessed to the act. The RA Police announced that circumstances are being clarified and measures are being taken to locate the knife used in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
The suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, based on a legally binding court verdict.
