Pashinyan Will Attempt to Forge Election Results, but We Won't Allow It: Vanetsyan
“It is clear that Nikol Pashinyan is using administrative resources. Law enforcement bodies are being utilized,” stated Arthur Vanetsyan, the prime ministerial candidate from the 'Honorary' alliance in an interview with the RIA Novosti agency.
He noted that officials from the police and security services frequently visit their supporters, trying to intimidate them by saying they should not support the opposition.
“But I believe those times are over, and nothing can help Pashinyan prolong his power,” he remarked.
When asked whether the results of the elections could be fabricated, Vanetsyan replied: “Pashinyan is doing everything possible to be re-elected or stay in power, as for him, holding onto power is his last hope of living in this country. He is no longer accepted in our country as the Prime Minister. He is now more widely known as the 'capitulator' who practically surrendered our lands, giving 75 percent of Artsakh to the Turk with a single signature.”
“Yes, of course, he will try to falsify the election results. But believe me, he will not succeed, and we will not allow it. If he takes that step, the people of Armenia will take to the streets and simply throw him out of his office,” he added.
When Russian media asked whether Vanetsyan was prepared to bring people to the streets, the prime ministerial candidate of the 'Honorary' alliance responded: “I am ready to take people to the streets; I am ready to lead that movement because I will have no other choice. In Armenia, elections are not just elections; this is not a struggle between political forces. This is a fight for the future of Armenia, for the existence of Armenia. For that, I am ready to do everything.”
