New Patrol Service to Launch in Yerevan Starting July
The new patrol service in Yerevan is set to be launched starting in July. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Kristine Grigoryan, during a government meeting, in response to a question from Acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
“A five-month educational program started in January, which will conclude at the end of June. According to our planning, the launch of the new service in Yerevan is scheduled for July,” Grigoryan stated.
She expressed hope that the new personnel will result in a significantly changed police force, ultimately aiming to increase public trust.
The new patrol service is being established in the context of police reforms. It will replace the patrol and security service as well as the road police. Applicants to work in the patrol service will undergo an educational program.
