Today the First Meeting Between Putin and Biden Will Take Place: New Challenges Are Opening for Our Foreign Policy, Says Political Scientist

Today the first meeting between Putin and Biden will take place. The meeting will also discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Prior to these two presidents, the same issue was discussed by the heads of the National Security Councils of the U.S. and Russia, as well as the foreign ministers. This was stated by political scientist Suren Sargsyan on his Facebook page.

This means that new challenges and issues are opening up for our foreign policy, as well as opportunities. Yes, I believe that it is possible to achieve very clear gains through negotiations. History has seen cases where after a war, the defeated side was able to achieve serious diplomatic gains.

Unfortunately, we cannot do that now, as we do not even have a Foreign Minister. The authorities failed the negotiations, the war started, they failed that as well, and now I am confident that the newly starting negotiations will also be sabotaged. The actors are weak; we need new ones.
