Red Berets Storm Headquarters Near 'Armenia' Alliance Gathering, Five People Detained

The Election Monitoring Committee has revealed that Red Berets of the police stormed the headquarters near the gathering of Prime Minister candidate Nikol Pashinyan of the Civil Contract party during a campaign rally in Yeghegnadzor today. They demanded that no one film Pashinyan's sparsely attended rally and instructed those standing at the entrance to enter the building.

The Committee stated, “Five citizens who did not comply with the illegal and unfounded demand were detained on the grounds of 'not complying with the legal demand of the police.' The Election Monitoring Committee notes that the actions of the RA police evidently pursued political objectives and had no relation to the legal functions of that institution,” the statement reads.
