Identity of Rubo Revealed in Murder Case Resembling Action Film Near Thug Marso's Grave

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on June 14, the employees of the Republic of Armenia Police revealed the identity of an individual named Rubo in connection with the murder case that occurred on June 13 near the grave of the ‘thug’ Marso in the cemetery of Goravan village in the Ararat region.

It has been determined that he is 33-year-old Ruben A., a resident of Ararat. Following investigations and operational measures to ascertain his whereabouts, Ruben A. voluntarily presented himself to the Ararat police department yesterday, from where he was transferred to the Vedi investigative division of the Ararat regional investigative department.

In connection with the criminal case initiated, Ruben A. has been arrested based on the investigator's decision. The police and investigative department are undertaking necessary operational intelligence and joint investigative actions aimed at locating the firearm used in the crime.

Preliminary information suggests that A. Hovhannisyan was shot by Ruben A., and once the weapon is found, a forensic examination will determine whether the details are accurate. The pre-investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.

Previously, it was reported that on June 13, there were new details concerning gunfire and a 'razborka' (showdown) at the cemetery in the administrative area of Goravan village in the Ararat region, reminiscent of an action film. According to reports from the operational investigative groups of the Ararat police regional office, the Ararat division of the police, and the investigative committee of the Ararat regional investigative department, at around 18:55, a dispute occurred near the grave of ‘thug’ Marso involving residents of Goravan village—29-year-old Gor Petrosyan, 30-year-old Gevorg Petrosyan (reportedly brothers), and 30-year-old Karen Safaryan from Vedi city—against Ararat city resident 34-year-old Armen Hovhannisyan, 39-year-old Serjik Voskanian, 29-year-old Mesrop Aivazyan from Nor Kyanq village in Ararat region, and 32-year-old Hovhannes Badalyan from Artashat city.

The dispute escalated into fighting where gunfire ensued, resulting in A. Hovhannisyan being transported to Vedi medical center with gunshot wounds, where he subsequently died without regaining consciousness.

The police and investigative department are undertaking operational intelligence and investigative actions to ascertain the identities of Gevorg and Gor Petrosyan, K. Safaryan, S. Voskanian, M. Aivazyan, H. Badalyan, and Rubo, and locate the firearms used in the crime while clarifying the circumstances of the incident.

According to reports, on June 14, at around 00:20, S. Voskanian was taken to Vedi medical center diagnosed with “gunshot wounds to the left lower extremities, chest, and head.” The investigation into the criminal case continues under the decision of the head of the Ararat regional investigative department, A. Grigoryan, who assigned the investigative team led by investigator Stepanian.

Sources indicate that the suspects involved in the incident, G. and G. Petrosyan, are relatives of the slain ‘thug’ Marzpetuni Petrosyan (Marso), who was murdered in 2009.

Note: The suspect or accused in the presumed crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure stipulated by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a court's legally binding decision.
