Armenian Foreign Ministry Issues Statement Regarding Turkish President's Visit to Shushi
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh has issued a statement regarding the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the historic city of Shushi. The statement reads:
“The visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and members of his family, accompanied by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his family, to the historic capital of Artsakh, Shushi, which was destroyed by Turkey and Azerbaijan in 1920 and 2020, is a gross violation of international law and an explicit manifestation of inhumanity, genocidal and terrorist policies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh strongly condemns such visits to the occupied territories of Artsakh, viewing them as provocations and a continuation of imperialistic and extremist agendas. The international community must condemn Turkey's provocative actions, as such visits, along with the ideas, statements, agreements voiced by Ankara and Baku, and the glorification of medieval conquering policies pose a significant threat to international and regional security, challenging all civilized humanity and undermining the authority of all organizations and entities to which Turkey is a member.”
