VIDEO: "Fist Bump" Greeting. Erdoğan and Biden Meet at NATO

A few minutes ago, the meeting between the presidents of the United States and Turkey at the NATO summit in Brussels concluded, which was highly anticipated given the notably frosty relations following Joe Biden's arrival at the White House. The meeting, held in both narrow and expanded formats, lasted about one and a half hours, Anadolu Agency reports.

Joe Biden described his bilateral meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as "very positive." In turn, the New York Post reports that Biden approached Erdoğan and greeted him with a fist bump just as the Turkish leader was about to criticize the U.S. president for recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

Further details of the U.S.-Turkey summit have not yet been disclosed. The Turkish delegation included Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, ruling Justice and Development Party member Ömer Çelik, head of the presidential communications directorate Fahrettin Altun, presidential spokesman and advisor İbrahim Kalın, and Turkey's ambassador to Washington Murat Mercan.
