ICRC President Responds to Armen Sarkissian's Letter

The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer, has responded to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian's letter regarding the urgent return of all Armenian military personnel and civilians held by Azerbaijan.

The ICRC President assured that the issues raised by the Armenian president are fully acknowledged and will receive the organization's complete attention.

Noting that the ICRC has had a continuous and active presence in the region since 1992, Peter Maurer specifically stated that since the first day of the military operations that began in September 2020, the organization has provided humanitarian assistance and expressed its willingness to continue its activities within the humanitarian mandate granted to the ICRC by the international community.
