Gunshots Heard Near the Grave of an Underworld Figure; One Dead

Around 19:15, the police station in Ararat received a call from the 'Vedi' medical center indicating that a citizen had been brought in with gunshot wounds and had died shortly after without regaining consciousness.

Police and investigators determined that the deceased was 34-year-old Armen Hovhannisyan, a resident of Ararat city.

Through operational-search and investigative actions, police discovered that Hovhannisyan had been shot at the cemetery in the village of Goravan in the Ararat region, as a result of gunfire that occurred in front of underworld figure 'Mars' (Mardpetuni Petrosyan)'s grave.

Currently, investigators and forensic experts from the Ararat region are working at the scene.

A criminal case was initiated by the head of the Ararat regional investigative department, A. Grigoryan, based on the features of Article 104, Part 1, and Article 235, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code, and an investigative team has been formed. According to Shamshyan's information, the deceased had been the perpetrator of a murder attempt years ago.
