67-Year-Old Man Arrested on Suspicion of Violently Assaulting 7-Year-Old Girl

On June 12, 2021, a resident of Armavir province reported that her 67-year-old relative had taken advantage of her defenseless daughter, born on June 21, 2014, and had been committing sexual assaults against the child regularly since September 2020.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Vagharshapat investigation department of the Armavir regional investigation directorate under Article 139, Part 3, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The child has been recognized as a victim, with the mother being designated as the victim's legal representative.

During the pre-investigation phase, various investigative and procedural actions were carried out, including questioning several individuals and ordering a forensic examination for the child.

The 67-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing violent sexual acts against a person under the age of fourteen.
