Sport: Denmark Football Association Provides Update on Christian Eriksen's Condition
The health condition of Christian Eriksen, midfielder for the Danish national team and Inter Milan, is stable; however, he will remain in the hospital for further examinations. This was reported by the press service of the Danish Football Association.
The participation of one of Denmark's leading players in Euro 2020 is likely over. In the first round of the Euro 2020 group stage, the Danish national team lost to Finland 0-1, with 29-year-old Eriksen losing consciousness towards the end of the first half. His life was saved with the help of CPR and a defibrillator.
“This morning we spoke with Christian Eriksen; he sent greetings to his teammates. His condition remains stable, but he is still in the hospital for further tests. The Danish national team players and staff have received psychological support and will continue to fight and compete in this tournament,” the Danish Football Association stated on its Twitter page. “We thank everyone—fans, players, the royal families of Denmark and England, international associations, clubs, and others—for their support of Christian. We encourage everyone who wishes to send their well-wishes to us. We will convey them to Christian and his family.”
