Why the Putin-Biden Meeting is Necessary: Peskov

The Kremlin is ready for a joint press conference with Joe Biden, but a decision on its organization has not yet been made. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with CNN, as reported by TASS.

“We have heard about such an opportunity from our American counterparts, but we are still waiting for final confirmation. From the very beginning, President Putin has been open to various options,” Peskov said.

The press secretary of the Russian president added that Putin is going to Geneva not because of the need to be in the same room as Biden, but because “there are poor relations between Russia and the USA.”
