Turkish-Symbol Soldier's Photo Taken in Non-Armenian Part of Armenia-Azerbaijan Border: Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has issued a statement addressing recent media reports suggesting that "Turkish special forces have been stationed in the Syunik province, specifically in the vicinity of Lake Sevan for the past two days."

"The Republic of Armenia, particularly the Ministry of Defense, has repeatedly addressed the issue, including on various international platforms, regarding the significant involvement of Turkish armed forces in the training, instructing, and even commanding processes within the Azerbaijani army. The most vivid evidence of this was the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, in which Turkish armed forces had direct participation. The presence of Turkish military personnel within Azerbaijani Armed Forces is already a well-established fact, confirmed also by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. From this perspective, accusations that the Ministry of Defense is hiding certain facts regarding the presence of Turkish military personnel in the Azerbaijani armed forces are baseless," the statement from the Ministry of Defense read.

Regarding the photo of a soldier with Turkish insignia circulated in the media, it was taken in a non-Armenian section of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, and the movement of soldiers has been monitored by units of the Armenian Armed Forces. In this area, there is no mention of the "stationing of any Turkish military unit," the Ministry’s statement concluded.
